Maryland is transitioning to a new tax filing system called Maryland Tax Connect, launching September 1, 2026. The current online filing and payment system will be unavailable from July 30 through August 31 during the transition. If you need to file or pay Maryland taxes, do so by July 29, 2026 to avoid delays. No penalties will be assessed for deadlines that fall during the outage window.
If you need to make payments during the transition, eCheck and credit card payments will continue to be available, though they may not show in your account until after September 1. Paper checks will not be processed during this period. For refund status or account information, expect limited to no access until the new system launches.
