What is the Idaho Parental Choice Tax Credit?

The new Idaho Parental Choice Tax Credit program, administered by the Idaho State Tax Commission, gives some parents the ability to choose educational services that meet the needs of their individual children.

This refundable tax credit program is intended to help full-time Idaho residents pay for eligible nonpublic school expenses. It's available for Idaho K12 students ages 5 to 18, as well as Idaho students ages 5 to 21 who have a qualifying disability and require ancillary personnel. Taxpayers can receive a credit of up to $5000 per eligible student.

In order to qualify for this credit, you must first submit an application to and be approved by the Idaho Tax Commission. More details and instructions can be found on the official My School Choice website.
