No. You don't need to create a Trump Investment Account to file your tax return. It's completely optional and doesn't affect your return. If you do want to sign up with your tax return, you'll need to do it with your originally filed return. You can't sign up on an amended return.
If you want to sign up for an account but don't want to do it with your tax return, you can also sign up later online at trumpaccounts.gov . Signing up online won't be available until summer 2026.
If you do NOT want a Trump Investment Account, you don't have to opt out or do anything extra here. Just don't enter any Trump Investment Account information with your return, and no account will be created.
