Louisiana Adoption Credit

Louisiana allows a refundable credit of $5,000 for the adoption of a child who is unrelated to the taxpayer and who is less than three years of age. An adoption of an infant from foster care does not qualify for the credit. The credit is taken for the year in which the adoption becomes final.
