What payments qualify for the Maryland Surviving Spouse Pension Payments subtraction?

Any payments from a pension system paid to the surviving spouse or other beneficiary of a law enforcement officer or firefighter whose death arose out of or in the course of their employment are eligible for a subtraction.

Note: Death benefits required by a Maryland municipal or county collective bargaining agreement also qualify for this subtraction.
