What do I enter if I have more than one mortgage?
If you have more than one mortgage on your primary home:
For each mortgage on your primary home, answer No to the question that asks if the mortgage was refinanced or sold to another lender if it wasn't refinanced or sold to another lender.
If you refinanced a mortgage on your primary home or the mortgage for your primary home was sold to another lender:
Enter the 1098 from the mortgage that you had on January 1, 2025 (or the date you purchased your home) and answer Yes to the question that asks if the mortgage was refinanced or sold to another lender.
Separately, enter information from the 1098 that is from the refinanced mortgage or the new mortgage after sale and answer No to the question that asks if the mortgage was refinanced or sold to another lender.
If you have a mortgage on a primary and secondary home:
If you didn't refinance either mortgage, enter the 1098 information for each home and answer No to the question that asks if the mortgage was refinanced or sold to another lender.
For each mortgage on your primary home, answer No to the question that asks if the mortgage was refinanced or sold to another lender if it wasn't refinanced or sold to another lender.
