What states allow me to deduct my vehicle's property taxes?

Personal property tax on your vehicles is deductible if the tax is based on value only and the tax is imposed on a yearly basis. Some states do this, and some don't.

Some states collect taxes with vehicle registration, and some collect them separately. For those with taxes on the registration, the total amount of your registration fee isn't deductible, just the portion that the state charged you for taxes based on the value of your vehicle.
