Can I change my refund bank information on an amended return?

If the IRS accepts your original return and it has incorrect banking information, the deposit will usually be rejected by the IRS or your bank, and it won't be direct deposited. In this case, the IRS will mail your refund check to the address listed on your return. There's no way to change your bank information for the original refund once the IRS has accepted your return.
