What if I don't qualify for the Alabama Head of Family filing status?
Unfortunately, we do not support having a filing status different from federal.
If you do not qualify for the Head of Household filing status for Alabama, you will have to start a second account and enter your federal information as if you are filing single. That way when entering your state information, you are filing as single for your Alabama state return. Once it is time to submit your Alabama return, you will finalize your return to be mailed. You will then ignore the Federal return on your second account and only mail in your Alabama state return.
