You don't report your child's Social Security income on your tax return.
Your child would report it on their own tax return if they're required to file a tax return. Most often, the only reason a child with social security income would need to file a tax return is if the child has earned income reported on a
Form W-2 or if they have more than $1,350 in unearned income (interest, dividend income, capital gains).
If your child's only income is social security, your child does
not need to file.
You can use the
IRS interactive tool to determine whether your child is required to file a tax return.
