What if I'm repaying a disaster distribution I took 3 years ago?
You can repay a disaster distribution you took for up to 3 years and 1 day from the day you took the distribution. For 2025 you could've made a final disaster repayment for a disaster distribution made in 2022.
You would only enter an amount on the Final Disaster Repayment screen if you made a repayment in 2025 after April 15, 2025 (or October 15, 2025 if you extended your 2024 tax return). If you made a repayment before April 15, 2025, you'll want to include that repayment on your 2024 tax return. If you forgot to include it on your 2024 tax return, you can amend your 2024 tax return to include that repayment.
