Do I qualify for the Educator Expense Deduction?
Full-time (900 hours during a school year) kindergarten through 12th grade teachers, counselors, principals, or aides can deduct up to $250 for out of pocket expenses that they pay for supplies, books, equipment, and materials used in their classroom. Qualified expenses don't include expenses for home schooling or nonathletic supplies for courses in health or physical education. Don't include expenses that were reimbursed.
