What is the Nonrefundable Renter's Credit?

The Nonrefundable Renter's Credit is for California residents who paid rent for their principal residence for at least 6 months in 2013 and whose adjusted gross income does not exceed a certain limit.

The Nonrefundable Renter's Credit is a personal income tax credit that can only be used to offset your tax liability; therefore, you must have a tax liability to claim the credit.
