What if I forget my password?
On the menu bar, select the Account menu and click Forgot Password. You will need to enter your username, Social Security number, and challenge question answers.
If answered correctly, an email with a temporary password will be sent to the email address you entered when you set up your account. If your email address is no longer good or if you can't remember your username or challenge question answers, then you will need to create a new account to do your tax return.

What if I forgot my password for the current or previous year's account?
On the menu bar, click Account and select Forgot Password. The first screen will ask you to choose the year for which you have forgotten your password. On the next page, you will need to enter your username, Social Security number, and challenge question answers. If answered correctly, an email with a temporary password will be sent to the email address you entered when you set up your account. If your email address is no longer valid, or if you can't remember your username or challenge question answers, you will not be able to access your account. Once you have a temporary password, you can change it by logging into the year for which it was given, and then selecting Change Password in the Account menu, and following the instructions.

Some email services will put the emails we send out for Acceptance, Rejection, Billing Receipts, Forgot Password, and Forgot Username into the junk folder of your email account. The easiest thing to do to ensure that you receive emails from us is to add our support address, support@FreeTaxUSA.com to your contact list or list of trusted senders.

Using the menu, select the Account tab and click on Edit User Profile. You can change your email address, password, username, email preferences, or security questions on the Edit User Profile page.
